From October 19, 2022 to October 21, 2022 the GGI World Conference will take place in Montréal, QC, Canada. Mario Kapp, Global Vice Chairperson of the Debt Collection, Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group (“DCRI“) will give a presentation on the topic “COVID-19 and the potential of mass insolvency in the European Union”. Current national insolvency procedures are not tailored to systemic bankruptcy. Mario will look at this topic in detail, whereby the subsidy measures enacted to counter the consequences of the pandemic-related economic collapse as well as the (re-)design of insolvency regulations with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic (and its effects) will be presented in an European internal market comparison of selected member states.

Die derzeitigen nationalen Insolvenzverfahren sind nicht auf Masseninsolvenzen zugeschnitten. Mario wird sich eingehend mit diesem Thema, beschäftigen und darüber berichten, welche Maßnahmen und (neue) Insolvenzregelungen in diversen Mitgliedsstaaten ergriffen wurden, um den Folgen der COVID-19-Pandemie entgegenzuwirken.
